CN innovation has embraced AI-assisted workflows throughout its website production and maintenance. This document explains transparently how artificial intelligence is used, in line with our obligations under the EU AI Act and related EU transparency requirements.

Overview

CN innovation uses AI tools to assist with several aspects of website creation and ongoing maintenance. AI assistance does not replace human judgment; all AI-generated outputs are reviewed, edited, and approved by CN innovation staff before publication.

Code Generation and Implementation

AI tools (such as GitHub Copilot and similar large language model assistants) are used to support software development tasks including:

• Generating boilerplate and scaffolding code
• Suggesting implementations for components, services, and tests
• Reviewing and improving existing code quality
• Drafting configuration files and documentation

All AI-generated code is reviewed by human developers before it is committed to the repository or deployed to production.

Design Support and Idea Generation

AI tools are used to assist with website design decisions including:

• Generating layout and colour-scheme ideas
• Proposing content structure and page organisation
• Suggesting UX improvements and accessibility enhancements

Final design decisions are made by CN innovation staff. AI-generated design suggestions are used as inspiration and are adapted or rejected based on human review.

Photos and Images

Trainer and staff photos: Photos shown for CN innovation trainers and staff members are real photographs of the individuals concerned.

Attendee and participant photos: Where no real photos of attendees or participants are available, synthetic or AI-generated images may be used for illustrative purposes. Such images do not represent real individuals. Where synthetic images are used, they are identified as illustrative or generated imagery.

This distinction is maintained to comply with EU AI Act transparency obligations and to avoid misleading site visitors about the authenticity of depicted persons.

Text Drafting, Correction, and Quality Improvement

AI tools are used to assist with written content including:

• Drafting initial versions of page text, descriptions, and marketing copy
• Correcting grammar, spelling, and style
• Improving clarity and readability of existing text
• Translating or localising content between English and German

All text is reviewed and approved by CN innovation staff before publication. AI assistance is used to improve quality and efficiency; the final content accurately reflects CN innovation's own views and information.

• AI-assisted content areas (code, design, images, text) are individually identified and described.

Synthetic and Generated Media

• A clear distinction is made between real photographs (trainers/staff) and synthetic or AI-generated images (illustrative attendee imagery where real photos are unavailable).
• Synthetic images are identified as illustrative or generated where they appear on the website.
• No synthetic images of real, identifiable individuals are used without appropriate disclosure.

Human Oversight

• All AI-generated content (code, design, images, text) is reviewed and approved by CN innovation staff before publication.
• AI tools are used as assistants; final decisions on all published content are made by humans.

Data and Privacy

• AI tools used are evaluated for data handling practices. No personal data of site visitors is shared with AI tools as part of website production workflows.

Ongoing Review

• This AI usage document will be reviewed and updated when significant changes to AI tool usage occur.
